Benefits Of BSR
Whilst Body Stress Release does not offer a diagnosis or treatment of any specific condition or illness, it is an intervention that can help your body restore its physical and emotional wellbeing.
Clients have reported improved health relating to a wide range of conditions including:
Musculo-skeletal and neurological complaints – migraines, headaches, neck pain, whiplash, frozen shoulder, scoliosis, back pain, sciatica, ‘slipped’ discs, back pain, hip pain, restricted joint movement, fibromyalgia, leg cramps and pins and needles.
Gastro-intestinal complaints – heartburn, indigestion, acid reflux, IBS and constipation.
Sporting injuries – muscle spasm, muscle strains, joint injury and overuse, recovery from slips, trips and falls.
Mental and emotional – anxiety, low mood, lack of energy and vitality, poor and non-restorative sleep.
BSR is quite different to other techniques. There is no joint manipulation, so it is far less intrusive. BSR helps to improve and optimise the communication across your nervous system, so it takes a whole body and holistic approach to your health rather than focussing on a speciic limb or body area.
Although there can be gains from an individual session, BSR should be considered as a 'process', leading you towards the restoration of your health and wellbeing.
The process is very much like flying a kite. At the beginning you need to get the kite in the air, you need several BSR sessions very close together to get your body moving. Once the body has responded and we get your kite flying we can gradually start to pay out the the string, effectively lengthening the gap between each visit until you reach a point where there is balance.
If the stresses and strain of life cause you to have a wobble, we bring the string in a little tighter, the visits come closer together and we check and monitor your progress until we can extend the period between each visit.
Eventually you should be at a point where the BSR interventions and the self-help advice mean that you are able to support yourself, and with perhaps the occasional maintenance check we can keep you flying.
My background in fitness, physical training, nutrition and sports injuries allows me to provide informed advice and self-help techniques that can enhance your progression to recovery and support your long term wellbeing.
For those with recent injuries, neck strain or backache and muscle spasm you can typically start to see benefits within just 3 sessions of BSR.
Many clients start BSR to address their phsyical symptoms of pain, and continue to take maintenance sessions to enhance their wellbeing.
